The City of Johannesburg says Operation Clean Sweep is a multi-disciplinary approach aimed at rejuvenating the Johannesburg central business district, but attempts to improve conditions in the inner city have seen a backlash with the unceremonious removal of informal traders from the city streets who say they have nowhere else to go.
In this video we interview various representing different sides whose interests in Johannesburg differ but whose fates may ultimately hang together.
